The Crescent Mission
Crescent opened in 2014 because we believed that Amman was ready, actually needed, the next step in health and fitness. Each of us had been hugely changed by training CrossFit, and we wanted to bring what we had experienced to more people. We began with a simple motto- “Intensity with Humility.”
We also understood two core truths that researchers have discovered- there are two “Keystone” habits.
Research shows exercise is one of two “Keystone” habits: small changes or habits that people introduce into their routines that unintentionally carry over into other aspects of their lives.
“When people start habitually exercising, even as infrequently as once a week, they start changing other, unrelated patterns in their lives, often unknowingly. Typically people who exercise start eating better and becoming more productive at work. They smoke less and show more patience with colleagues and family. They use their credit cards less frequently and say they feel less stressed. It’s not completely clear why…‘Exercise spills over,’ said James Prochaska, a University of Rhode Island researcher. ‘There’s something about it that makes other good habits easier.’”
From that original motto we’ve expanded our vision and aim- as of Spring 2020 our team got together and dreamed and further clarified:

We named the gym CrossFit Crescent when we opened because we felt it was our calling to help Amman become a beacon of health and fitness for the entire Crescent world. We envisioned the entire Middle East and North Africa being impacted by our team.
If you cut out processed carbs and sugar and start doing squats, deadlifts and presses, you’ll live longer. But you’ll also live better. You’ll stay independent to an older age. You’ll have strength and mobility and the will to live right up until the end—to be blessing your kids, grandkids, and great grandkids by being with them and playing with them! The courage you’ve built through your fitness will pour into other areas of your life and community.
During the Fall of 2020 we will be bringing even more clarity to our vision. And we’ll need your help to see it accomplished. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced our team to grapple with the unseen, but far more destructive obesity pandemic. This quiet pandemic is the main enemy.
Obesity brings with it diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and so much more. Research is showing how obesity is the main predictor of one’s ability to fight off the Corona virus. If you are obese (have a Body Mass Index greater than 30) you have huge risks when you get the virus. If you aren’t obese, you have a fantastic chance of dealing with Covid quickly and returning to health.
Stress and busyness are damaging our bodies leaving us vulnerable to sickness. We have less time, more pressure, and feel depleted. We find themselves more sick, life only speeding up, and more confused about what to eat and how to stay healthy. We waste money on gym memberships and diets we never use. We find themselves quitting after a few weeks tired, injured, and feeling frustrated.
Our coaches prescribe to you efficient workouts, simple nutrition, and walk with you each step of the way as your progress safely. Through new habits, we help you recharge your energy, regain your immunity, and restore your body. Soon you will find yourself more efficient at work, enjoying more time with people you love, and taking courageous action in your life.
We will do this through personal training, group classes, nutrition coaching, and even online coaching. We have a membership option that’s perfect for you, your preferences, and your budget!
We truly believe- When people feel energized and strong they live with courage. And courage is what’s needed in this day. Courage to do what’s right. Courage to take risks to make progress. Courage is what we want to inspire.

A COACH FROM EARLY IN LIFE
I’ve been doing sports since I was 7 years old like karate and football. I’m very passionate about everything that has to do with sports. I wanted to learn everything, so I chose physical education for my bachelor’s degree and started to work as a personal trainer at the same time, learning and teaching.
At my second year in university I tried some lesmills programs and I took GRIT for the first time giving group classes. At the end of the year, I tried CrossFit for the first time and I never felt that sore or that competitive about wanting to learn more. I quickly fell in love, and soon after, I took my L1.
I’ve been doing CrossFit for 5 years learning and teaching it. I was on and off trying to balance between work, university, and my own crossfit training.
When I graduated I started working as an EMS personal trainer but never stoped teaching CrossFit as a personal trainer. 2 years later I decided to dedicate my time and effort in coaching CrossFit at Crescent in Personal training and our group classes. I’m so excited about guiding others on their journey to feeling the best they have ever felt. Everyday is a new opportunity to learn something new to inspire and change someone’s life. A LOVE OF SPORTS
Noor has dedicated the last 7 years of her life to training and teaching different aspects of fitness. She is a Certified personal trainer through ISSA, Certified CrossFit Trainer (L3) CrossFit, Precision Nutrition Level 1, USAW club coach, also a certified instructor in CrossFit Mobility, CrossFit Gymnastics, Spinning, TRX, Indorow and CrossFit Kettlebell.
Noor is passionate about making people fitter. She leads our Nutrition Program at CrossFit Crescent. She has been afforded the opportunity to study and train with some of the best instructors of CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting in the world. She consistently pursues knowledge and training to not only better herself but to better those around her.
She has two beautiful children and an amazing husband!

ROAD TO BECOMING A GENERAL MANAGER
As the youngest kid in a family of five members, I spent lots of time with my older sister when she used to take me with her to her Circassian Dancing practice and Kickboxing Practice sessions. She was my idol and I always wanted to be as good as she was. Sometimes the road to becoming a coach starts in weird ways!
Fortunately, when I was 9 years old I was old enough to join the kids Circassian Dancing Troup. So I started dancing and never stopped for the next 17 years. I was able to be one of the best dancers. However, being in an athletic family, my parents always tried to push me into martial arts like my sister. It was just not my thing. I would go but never committed for more than few months.
I started looking for other sports, and like any other guy, I wanted to have a sculpted muscular body, so I started going to the regular gym. But it was boring and I couldn’t commit. I kept to try to maintain a basic level of fitness.
That was my case up until I tried my first CrossFit class. I had heard about CrossFit and even read some articles about it. When I knew it had arrived in Jordan, I was anxious to try it finally. I did not even wait for my membership at the regular gym to end, I just immediately called and reserved my first session. Luckily, I had my first Essentials class in October 2014 at CrossFit Crescent.
When I first joined CrossFit, the immediate thing that I liked that it’s a community based sports. For me, coming from a group dancing atmosphere, I like the social part that comes along with the training. Only CrossFit was able to replace that atmosphere. It is a community within the box, within the rejoin, and even internationally. Whenever you bump into someone who does CrossFit, you will immediately feel the sports’ bond.
A COACH’S LIFE
With every WOD (workout of the day) I do, I like CrossFit more & more. The WODs system and the group WODing together challenge you and push you beyond your limit every time, enabling you to learn new skills, see astonishing results, and more. I have finally found a sport that suits me perfectly, thus, I went through CF-Level 1 and now even my level 2- to learn more about CrossFit and to be able to share it with others.
I continue to proceed with my fitness experience, extended my knowledge and skill through other courses and research like, Yoga practice, personal training, human anatomy, kinesiology, and nutrition. All of this would allow me to help myself and others reaching more toward the best fitness and health parameters.

A COACH IS BORN
Since I was a kid, it was clear that I was an athlete. You could always find me climbing trees, running around the neighborhood, and riding my bicycle. I started being involved in every sports team my school had to offer, football, basketball, handball, volleyball, track & field, you name it! I was the football team captain for 4 consecutive years. Later on, I discovered that in order to stay a good athlete, I needed to work on being stronger, faster, more agile and balanced. I started joining local bodybuilding gyms, reading and learning more about sports and nutrition, and I was seeing results. In my senior year, I was named the Most Athletic.
I found passion in being fitter and healthier, and I knew I would like to influence people I know in what I’m doing. When CrossFit showed up around the globe, it hit me like a storm. I stopped going to regular gyms, and started training at CrossFit Crescent. This led to me taking the CrossFit Level 1 test, to direct my passion to a group of people that share a common goal, health and the love for the sport. Becoming a coach at CFC is a dream come true, and I look forward to helping you reach your goals, and then pushing those goals upwards.

I’ve had the opportunity to train the Special Forces of Jordan. But whether you are in Jordan’s Special Forces, or working at an insurance company- I’m excited to help! I help run an Essentials Class each month and would love to have you!
Hisham has been with us since 2018 and makes sure the customer experience at Crescent is world class. He'll help you identify your goals and find the right solution to help you reach those goals. He's here to make sure you keep making progress and will answer all your questions!
